dress for work?
Permalink Closed

I'm a teacher and am always looking for comfortable and conservative (and washable!) clothing. I came across this:

'Island' Washed Knit Tunic
I'm wondering if would be cute, or if I would end up looking like I'm wearing a sack with a belt.  I liked it because it wasn't low cut, too short, or sleeveless.

Sadly, I'm thinking sack with a belt. However, if that belt is removable and you can use a funkier looking belt, it may not be so bad.

I'm afraid I agree. I have a very similar styled dress in a cotton jersey but it has vertical seaming to give it shape and it drapes beautifully. I think you should look for something with a bit more shape and structure for a more feminine silhouette.

There doesn't seem to be much shape to that dress, so I don't think it would be terribly flattering. I think you could do better.

I don't think would be a very flattering dress IRL. The sleeves are a weird matronly length, and the dress itself looks pretty shapeless. I bet you could find a cute structured shirtdress that has the look you're after.

the style , combinded with the color is really unflattering. Maybe look for a similiar t-shirt dress is a color?

If there was one or two details that were done differently (like more flattering sleeves and collar), I could see it working. As it is, I would pass.

I am going to be Devil's Advocate just because I think that woman is shapeless and too skinny and thats why the sleeves look awkward and she has no waistline.

That said, I think you can do better!
