I haven't looked at it myself yet, but let's all do it together and see what we think. Of course it will be ST-ized, but review it for it's functionality:

http://www.invisionpower.com/community/board/demo.html

we can still program features - so if you don't see it there, we should be able to program it in.

I may post some other demos for you to review as well...

should this take us to an st demo, or just a page where we can sign up to run a demo?

it's a page were you can sign up to look at a demo (it's not an ST demo)  but you can see the features in the forum format

i just hopped on for a sec, and these are some quick thoughts:

pros:
- streamlined posting and up-to-date data on members logged on, last clicked, etc.
- can sign in as invisible
- solid PM system
- more user-friendly and customizable personal profile options
- no wonky formatting issues (like the advanced editor on activeboard)
- i may be mistaken, but it looks like you can toggle between color schemes/themes; may be an administrative-only perk, though

cons:
- no quick reply
- no chatbox
- posting and replying uses html-like code (BB); may not be as user friendly but seems to be learnable enough
- no beer.gifsheepish.gifnerd.gifredface.gifsunnysideup.gif etc. emoticons :)

overall looks like a solid alternative, especially if it's more customizable over activeboard.

thank you, squishy, for the great input.  this saves me a lot of work in compiling wants and don't wants.
