We are going to have a new forum in the next couple of weeks!  I plan to keep the current forum available for reference for a while, but may turn off posting. 

You will need to create a new user account on the new forum, and I'm sorry to say, I cannot transfer posts or status.

The new forum will save money and offer us more flexibility in the future.

I'm sure you will have questions, so please don't hesitate to ask them here.  I want to make this transition as smooth as possible.

I also have a hectic weekend ahead of me, so I may not respond until Sunday or Monday.

I'm really excited though! This is the first in a series of changes that I'm sure you're going to love!  ST is going to better than ever! yay! (or yea!)smile

yay! now I can make up a cooler username without sacrificing all my posts and history. In all honestly I really loathe the un "ttara123" and wish I'd never picked it!

Ooh! How exciting!!!  Thanks for all the work you do for this forum, D.  I know the new one will be great!

In the meantime, I'll have to start thinking of a new username. I'm not too fond of "NCshopper."

Just kidding!  New forum sounds good to me - whatever is best/easiest for you to run D means the longer it will be around, right?  Nothin' wrong with that!

Last time we switched forums (ha!) we did a thread where everyone who'd changed their usernames posted their old and new names.  I don't remember it being difficult to figure out who was who, and the thread was around to refer to if needed.  I still remember the usernames of a couple of you oldtimers on FH!

I know, it sucks to have to start over... but we've done it before (a couple of times) and we can do it again! The beauty of this move is that it will be the last.  Currently, we use a forum provider/host.  They will not allow us to move information (posts, members, etc.)  With the new forum, we will own it completely, so if we ever need to move for any reason, all of our posts and history can come with us.  We will also have reduced hosting costs by hosting elsewhere.
