what kind of tights don't make your skirt/dress cling to your knees? microfiber? nylon? cotton blend???

i just got a pair that are made out of bamboo, and nothing clings to them at all. they're great! And warm!

I think your best bet would be to wear a half slip or slip.   I've never had a pair of tights that skirts didn't stick to.  cry

i second the slip or half slip idea. it generally helps your clothes to hang better anyway and i like the old fashioned femininity of a slip as well.

besides that, i've had good luck with tights from j. crew, donna karan, hue, and once i splurged on a pair of wolford.

I just spray static spray from the laundry detergent aisle on my legs when I wear tights or even Spanx and there's no static at all.
