Anyone have any favorite podcasts? I love listening to them while taking my dog for a walk or getting ready for bed, but I feel like I run out of stuff so quickly and I'm having trouble finding any other worthwhile ones. Right now I subscribe to:
The Ethicist Grammar Girl Money Girl Legal Lad Money Talk from Fool.co.uk The New Yorker animated cartoons Grammar Grater Mr. Manners podictionary ShopTalk (the one from the budget fashionista) 60-second Psych 60-second Science
and I'll be adding one on the Iditarod soon, whenever the 2008 ones start broadcasting!
Edited because I can't spell

Its topical, but the Strip Podcast is by a gay couple who interview celebrities, especially those on the Las Vegas strip, and notables around Vegas. They did an absolutely wonderful critical interview with For Better or For Worse comic artist Lynn Johnston a while back and got lots of acclaim from those critical of the way the characters are portrayed in the strip. They've also done some heavyweights. I don't listen regularly because my whole podcast thing isn't set up properly, but its worth a look.
The only one I subscribe to right now is This American Life. I should probably sign up for more since whenever I'm in a car (every few months) I realize that I miss listening to the radio.
I love the NPR podcasts - story of the day, driveway moments, etc. I also like the slate, epicurous, MSNBC money, arabicpod (studied arabic in college), the economist, grammar girl and money girl (which you already mentioned).
i basically rely on NPR (this american life, wait wait don't tell me, fresh air, and some of my local NPR station programming) and ESPN (PTI, baseball today, around the horn depending on the panelists). and savage love.
i've also been meaning to check out slate's daily podcast.
I love podcasts and find that I listen to them more than I listen to my music.
The ones I subscribe to are: This American Life Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me Sound Opinions (rock music reviews and history--love!) The Splendid Table LOSTcasts (which they only produce when new episodes of Lost are airing) A Prarie Home Companion Garrison Keillor's The Writer's Almanac Weekend America (which I actually don't listen to that much)
This American Life Prarie Home All Song Considered - great NPR show to listen to for new music WNYC Radio Lab - kind of science...but really interesting subjects, like why we feel love, memory and forgetting... PRI: Selected Shorts - Short stories read by famous actors
I am HOOKED on podcasts! I love them! My favorites:
Savvies (video podcast about mall clothes) Satellite Sisters (talkshow-style for a more mature crowd than most of us here on Stylethread but nonetheless, good entertainment and they are long ones) Lipgloss and Laptops (about beauty products) Manic Mommies (hilarious if you are a working mom) Five Hundy By Midnight (about Las Vegas) Betty in the Sky with a Suitcase (a flight attendant shares her stories) Dis Unplugged (about Disneyworld)
I'm so glad you posted this because I'm always looking for new ones too!
