how to clean upholstery?

does anyone know any sprays or methods of lightly cleaning upholstery?  I don't want to take our couch anywhere though. Help!  No specific stains, just needs to be refreshed.

I don't know what type of fabric you have, but we had a couch before that we would clean ourselves. We rented the carpet shampoo machine at the grocery store and used the upholstery hose that they have to clean ours. It always turned out looking very good.

When I had my chair reupholstered, the guy suggested taking mild dish soap, mixing it with water, and only using the suds (no water) to clean. Never tried it, though.

We just use the upholstery attachment on our carpet cleaner. Works pretty good.
