Workout clothes

Where does everyone buy their workout clothes?  Specifically, workout pants?  Also, has anyone found a great long sleeve running shirt that heats the body?  I need to continue doing long runs outside but as the weather gets cooler it is becoming harder and harder to get my lazy butt in gear...smile

Well, what I love to wear are Nike shorts  (these are the BEST! they flatter your legs and are tres comfortable! pG01-2791346p275w.jpg)  and I wear leggings underneath, like UnderArmor ones...p1299363p275w.jpg...that way, they keep your legs warm, but dont hold you back, really...they are REALLY nice!

And for tops...Maybe a Cold Gear UnderArmor long sleeve top?  Or a sweatshirt?

I love yoga pants for working out...I've done well at Gap Body and Old Navy for those.

I love those Nike shorts, too--they really are so comfortable for running.

Lately I'm into Old Navy for cute and cheap workout clothes--I have a new zip-up sweatshirt from there that I am wearing right now--it has a wide kind of butterfly collar like those Lululemon ones, but I think it cost $15.  I'm obsessed with it.

Does anyone know what happened to the awesome plain yoga pants they used to sell at Old Navy?  I haven't been able to find any in there the last few times I've been...

I'd go the layered route...I usually put one pair of leggings over the other and then a tank top under a long sleeved shirt, and if needed a sweatshirt. I have found that the cold only really gets to me if I don't have my hands and head covered.

That's what I wear too. It's really expensive, but I work at a gym so I wear work-out clothes more often and for longer periods of time than most people.

Costco actually has amazing work-out clothes, and apparently they are made with the same materials that lululemon uses.

My SIL bought me a couple pairs of yoga pants from Lady Foot Locker about 3 or 4 years ago. They're great. They've never changed shape or faded in the slightest bit. I've worn them 3-4 times a week the entire time I've had them (give or take a few weeks in there) and they look the exact same as the first day I got them. I think she said they were $20 each. I'm actually going to spend some xmas money buying a few new pairs.

As for tops, I go to the gym but the bf wears an under armor mock turtleneck thing when he runs outside and it's cold. He likes it.

ETA: I just looked at LFL online and can't find the pants. I'm hoping they still sell them. They're LFL brand and I think I saw some in stores a few months back. Maybe it's an in-store only thing?

I ran in -20 a few weeks ago and wore an UnderArmour compression mock turtleneck with a running room wind jacket. I was quite warm.

Lululemon Athletica is pretty awesome. I love the yoga pants....there are some pairs that just make your butt look amazing.

bumblebee: I'm wearing my old navy yoga pants from 2005. I haven't seen them recently myself, which is a shame because I LOVE this pair and I'm going to wear it to shreds.

Thanks everyone.  Looks like I have a lot of things/places to check out.

Regarding the pants from lululemon and LFL, are they long?  One of my main issues is that oftentimes workout pants aren't long enough to go over the top of my running shoe - this has been the case with ON yoga pants (though I do like the capri style).

Thanks again for all the input.

I feel you on length. That's the main reason I throw work-out pants away - after a few washes they shrink and I'm wearing high-waters. My LFL pants have never shrunk. They cover the tops of my sneakers no problem. I'm pretty tall (5'7), so length is always a big issue. Can't complain with the LFL pants. If I can't find any after xmas, I might have to check out the others recommended on this post.

Lululemon has "regular" and "tall" fit. I'm 5'3" and so I obviously take the regular fit, but even that I could hem a little bit. The tall is long-- I work with some 6' plus tall girls, and they have pants from Lulu that are long enough.

I believe they do free hemming as well, and they have long and capri style pants.

Wow, Cheryle! I was a huge baby last night because I didn't want to go out in 5* to walk my dog. There is no way I'd go out running in -20! I'm impressed!

Great to know as I am 5'7 as well.  Headed to LFL over the holidays.  Will post them in the shopping thread if I find them!  biggrin  If I don't will try the long lululemon.   I need to buy a lot of them (for TNT training beg in Jan), so I may end up with both anyway.

I'm on board totally with Lululemon Athletica as well! I love their stuff but I take good care of it since it costs so friggin much! They also hem their pants for free if you need it.

For a bargain - the Champion brand has some good stuff ocasionally.

And for cold weather, I love Puma tracksuits, but I've never jogged in them.

I actually wear the Costco yoga pants and they're exactly the same as my Lululemon ones, only a whole lot cheaper. People always ask where I get them.
Both Lululemon and Costco fit tall girls- I'm five eight :)
