I love this coat from north face, but its $300, out of my budget, anyone seen any alternatives? p.s. do you think these look okay on petite ppl as long as they are still snug?

The North Face Arctic Parka - Women's ( i would prefer black, but im not terrible picky)

I don't have any alternatives but I just wanted to say that I do think that coat would look fine on a petite person--besides, the way I see it, one wears such a coat to keep really warm, so in that case, looks don't matter to me.  If I have a choice of looking cute and chic but being cold over looking like a marshmallow but being toasty warm, I will always pick warm.

Bluefly has some good alternatives for half the price. I am short, and the one I have similar to it looks fine on me, but I feel the same was as Jaclyn.

I have that exact coat in black and I love it.  It's been a lifesaver in the cold Chicago weather!  I got mine last year in Feb or March, so it was marked down to half price, but if I were you, I would check Ebay - I always see them for decent prices on there.  I also think it would look fine on you - I'm pretty tall, but Farrah has the same coat and she's pretty petite.

I have a really similar coat from Eddie Bauer that I LOVE -- it's cute and incredibly warm. Plus, the prices from Eddie Bauer are great.
