Foundation and concealer for SUPER fair skin?
Permalink Closed

Up until now I've never really needed foundation or concealer on a daily basis, until I had kids anyway. Now I'm finding that I have dark circles under my eyes, breakouts from all the chocolate and ice cream (darn divorce!!) and sun spots from being in Florida. Lovely huh? I have VERY fair and used to have near perfect skin, NOT ANYMORE!!!

Can anyone recommend a good concealer to hide the blemished and dark circles and a light weight foundation for very fair skin? I live in Florida so light weight is key, otherwise my make up feels like it's melting off my face.

I'm serious when I say fair, sometimes even the fairest of drug store brands is too dark!

TIA!

I'm very fair too and use Givenchy Mister Light concealer in the lightest shade. It's the best concealer I've ever tried and it's also a lightweight product, so it shouldn't feel goopy or heavy in the Florida heat. As for foundation, I once used Bobbie Brown in a light shade and liked that, and now sometimes use Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer with SPF. It's more sheer than a regular foundation and I like it for that reason.

About the sunspots, what kind of sunscreen are you using? I'm a big fan of Shisheido's line and use their face/body block with SPF 55.

Thanks! I'm going to stop by Sephora this weekend so I'll give those a try.

I had been using something by Origins (I can't remember the name right this second) but my skin is really sensitive and something about it was irritating. Since I have not really used anything (I guess that would explain the sun spots huh?). I guess I better get on it!

I'm not even 25! I thought for sure I'd have more "perfect skin years" than this! I didn't even break out when I was a teen, why the heck now?!! Argh!

Ok, done venting! smile

I recommend clinique in shade 01 (it's the lightest shade). It has warm undertones (if your skin is kind of pinky/rosey). It's the only light-weight foundation I've found that comes in a light enough color for my skin. Most of the time foundation, even in the lightest shades, is too dark for me.

I am very fair too, and I can't stand heavy makeup. I like Stila (tinted moisturizer or illuminating powder foundation) and prescriptives (virtual skin foundation and flawless skin concealer).

I have recently been using smashbox Photo Op luminizer under my eyes and it really helps with my under eye circles. I like prescriptives camoflage creme, laura mercier concealer and also bare minerals for concealer.

You might consider finding a tinted moisturizer to keep your makeup from feeling too heavy. Also, check out smashbox's photo finish foundation primers. They have some tinted ones that might do some color correction on the irritated skin plus it helps keep make up from sliding off.

fair skin here too .... Dermacia or Bobbi Brown both make great products for fair skin gals!

p.s dont forget to wear sunscreen everyday , it really cuts back on the aging process!
