I think I want to get a belt bag for traveling, epic Christmas shopping trips, etc. smile.gif

The only ones I would be able to carry without feeling ridiculous are by Dior and Gucci. The Dior one is too small and too expensive, so I'm going to go with the Gucci (in classic brown/brown). However, I'm tempted to purchase it on ebay since it's more about the practicality for me than the label. Unfortunately, of course, there are tons of fakes on ebay. Would you risk it? Typical price on ebay seems to be $200-300. Price in store is, I believe $395?

And, if you would risk it, would you think this listing is authentic? It looks like it is, but he has a few negative feedbacks, and the price is pretty low. TIA and sorry for the ridiculously long post!

i wouldn't only because this is a private auction, which generally screams fake to me.

I would pay the extra $100 and get the real thing. Then you have peace of mind if anything goes wrong with it.

For the $100 I would go with the real thing.. Its one thing to buy a $20 knock off on Canal Street but its another to spend $200 for something that is totally fake.

There is a website that I love which can help authenticate designer goods on ebay, and they have a section where members can sell designer goods. Its much safer than ebay. Honestforum.com

Also, theres a coupon on the gucci website for 10% off. I think its over but sometimes the codes still work http://www.gucci.com/us/holidayshoppingday.html

Maybe you can find the bag on eluxury or bluefly and use a coupon to save money as well.

After reading the link you sent, Xtina, I don't think I'll ever feel comfortable with one I found on ebay. And, Erin, I had no idea about the private auction.

 I agree.  Ebay makes me so nervous with some brands because I'm afraid of spending hundreds on a possible fake that I could buy on the street for a lot less!  If you really want the real thing, pay the extra money and get it in a store.  If you are willing to risk getting stuck with a fake try to search around for a better price on ebay.
