jewelry - i like a wide variety of jewelry types. i don't like gold though, or brass / base metal jewelry. i pretty much only wear silver. i love fun, funky chandelier earrings (as long as they're not too heavy).

random stuff about me:

our house is a contemporary and we decorate in a very modern style. i like things with clean lines and not a lot of fussy details. i dress the same way i decorate my house - i'm a curvy girl, so simple silhouettes fit my body best. i keep my outfits simple because i always like to have a standout piece of jewelry on.

i love, love, love to read when i have time. i like classic novels as well as good current books - except not the standard "chick lit". i also love to write and i adore a great pen (i know, i'm a geek). i also love to do crossword puzzles.

i don't use hair accessories. i love scarves and candles.

i don't really want or need seasonal stuff, though i have a weakness for these kinds of holiday ornaments:

Favorite Color? I like all sorts of colors! Colors I cannot wear are yellow and red.

Favorite Color?
My favorite colors to wear are jewel tones (they look best on me because I have dark hair/fair skin), and I get a lot of compliments when I wear pink, too, so I'm trying to wear more of that. My favorite colors in general are deep reds and white/cream.

Favorite Band?
HA, I'm a big dork, but my favorite ever are Meat Loaf and Stevie Wonder.

Favorite Movie?
While I have a lot of movies, I don't really watch them very much and I don't have any that are really my "favorite." I'm trying not to buy a lot of movies because I never watch them as much as I think I will.

I don't really have one.

Favorite Magazine and which ones do you subscribe to?
I guess my favorite is Glamour. I subscribe to Glamour, Marie Claire, and Cosmo.

Favorite Hobby?
I love ballroom dancing, and I write for a lingerie site. Both of those take up most of my hobby time.

My favorite food is a really good hamburger or pasta. I like coffee but it's not so nice on my stomach so I don't really want that.

I don't really know! I kind of have a little bit from everywhere. I don't really have a go-to store, sadly.

what DON'T you want?
Coffee/hot chocolate mugs. I don't want any Bath & Body Works-type stuff...I have so many lotions/bath gels/bubble baths that I'll never use. Asian home decor.

what do you need?
Hmmm....there's nothing really that I can think of! I hope this gives my SS freedom instead of lack of direction!

Clothing size?
My dress and pant size is 6. Small in all misses' lettered clothing, and a M/L in juniors' stores. I'm a Small in misses' tops, but I have a large chest so I can only really buy tops/sweaters that have some stretch to them, and don't have empire seams (they never hit me correctly)

What colors do you usually use to decorate your house or room?
My downstairs is all brown woodwork, kind-of-light green carpet, very pale green/cream walls, brownish bricks, and red furniture. I didn't decorate it, it was all my late aunt's stuff. I know it sounds so gross and Christmasy but it's actually not! I probably won't change much of it for a long time. I still do have a ton of her Asian/Christian decorations all around which I'm trying to slowly phase out/be selective about, so I don't want any more of that. My bedroom is the only place I've really "touched" yet. I have pale blue walls and deep brown woodwork/headboard.

What kind of jewelry do you like?
I wear necklaces every single day, most of them have "statement"/oversized pendants. I like earrings and I like how they look on me, but for some reason I always have a hard time picking earrings out so I always come home empty handed. It might sound weird, but I don't like my earrings to have charms/etc that look like real things. For example, I don't want two birds hanging off of my ears. I just like metals/beads/things that are decorative but aren't exactly recognizable as anything other than jewelry. Basically all of my jewelry is in the silver color family, no yellow gold. I love "organic" feeling jewelry or necklaces with trees on them. Really, I love anything and everything with trees/viney patterns on it - jewelry or not

You mean, other than the novel I just wrote?

I'm 21, single, moved back to my hometown and into my own house (in the middle of the woods) a couple months ago after I graduated college. I live here alone with my dog (Traci- a husky/shepherd/something small mix). I live very close to (and love) my family. I work at my family's business during the day, splitting my time between marketing and software development (I basically test the software and teach others how to use/test it, I don't write it). Like I said, I love taking ballroom dancing lessons (I'm still trying to find a studio around my hometown that I like, though) and I write for a lingerie website. I guess that's about it right now. I spend a lot of time trying to make new friends, because not many of my old friends still live at home! I'm not particularly wild or crazy. I'm kind of a big nerd. I'd rather sit at home and drink beer and play Scrabble than go out clubbing.

a little about yourself: I'm 18 and in my first semester of college and have just started working a part time job. Favorite Color? Purple. I also love jewel tones and earth tones- colors with richness.

Favorite Band? This is tough, my taste in music is very eclectic- rock/pop/alternative to broadway and classical. I spend way too much time accessing iTunes from my iPhone, buying more music.

Favorite Movie? Serendipity (but I already own it) and anything with Johnny Depp (own most of those, too).

Favorite Beauty Brand? I'm not overly into beauty products.

what DON'T you want? Shoes, not that I don't want them, but I'm just too picky. I also don't need or want any kind of lotion, potion, body spray or candles. I have way too many of these to ever use.

What do you need? I don't really need anything, but I like to think that I do. For example, I have convinced myself that I need more scarves, gloves (specifically the fingerless kind with the mitten covers), jewelry, socks, hats- basically, any accessory.

What colors do you usually use to decorate your house or room? I'm in transition right now with this since SO and I are moving in together. Sadly, I will no longer be able to surround myself with purple. Deep plum accents are okay, though. Other colors- rich jewel tones like deep teal, saffron, burgundy as well as earth tones like rust, olive and brown. As far as metal accents, I like matte bronze or brushed brass/copper, nothing overly shiny or silver/nickel.

What kind of jewelry do you like? Right now I really like things with nature and/or animal themes- squirrels, acorns, leaves, branches, cherry blossoms, birds, tigers, elephants, etc. I like all metals and don't have greater preference for one over the others. I like big and bold as well as delicate and refined.

Least favorite color? Black and pastels (although used in the right way, I like these, too). I guess I like, and can appreciate, all colors. These just aren't my first preference.

A little about yourself:
I'm 28, work in the creative side of advertising and I'm starting grad school in January to pursue an MFA in Integrated (multimedia) Design. Currently, my spare time is spent working on my new freelance business, which currently is writing and graphic design, but I'm planning on expanding it to a multimedia/fine art studio in the future.

SO and I are moving in together right before Christmas and are working on getting our decorating tastes to mesh. Our apartment is a city-style, converted warehouse with big windows, exposed brick and wood floors. I do like tasteful animal prints in moderation.

I tend to go for things that look organic with a modern spin or are classic, but quirky. Nothing predictable or normal. And I love Hello Kitty, although, finding a place for HK stuff is rather difficult at this point in my life, but I'm sure I could manage.

I love nubby scarves, gloves/mittens, hoodies (women's size M, regular or zipper) that say funny things (like at www.noisebot.com) or have a college logo on them (anything from NYC or California). I also love books about graphic design and communications/advertising. Not the breaking-into-the-business kind of books, but books with examples of great design or advertising (The Big Book of Logos, for example).

Favorite Color? Green of any shade. I've started to love oranges and yellows as well but I'm not quite sure if they actually look good on me, clothing wise.

Favorite Band? I don't really have a favorite band. I love everything from the Decemberists to Alison Krause to Pat Benetar. I'm not terribly into anything that's actually played on popular radio stations though.

Favorite Movie? I tend not to watch a lot of movies but I really enjoy foreign flicks especially Japanese or Korean. If I had to pick a genre of movies I would say fantasy fiction or documentary.

Favorite Beauty Brand? Again, don't have one and I hardly ever ever wear makeup. I use plain bar soap to wash with and unscented lotion. I ran out of my perfume (Tommy Boy) and can't decide to get that again or something else.

Totally reading and books in general. I love reading, mostly fantasy fiction but do enjoy a good non-fiction book every now and then. I also just plain love books. I like the feel and look of then. I like to browse bookstores and I like even making wish-lists of books.

Favorite Food/Snack? I love soup! Soup of any any kind. In the winter it's wonderful and comforting and in the summer there are such great fresh, cold soups. I also love anything made with an apple.

what DON'T you want? Anything with scent. Absolutely no candles, lotions or sprays.

Decorating, the bedroom is browns and blues while the living room is pale green, orange, black and white. Kitchen is black, white, and red.

What kind of jewelry do you like? Fun, flashy beaded necklaces, in any color, and that's about it. My ears aren't pierced and bracelets sometimes bother me. I also don't wear any ring but the one the BF gave me a long time ago.

Least favorite color? Gosh, I don't think there's any color in particular I don't like.

a little about yourself: I'm 28, live with my boyfriend of five or so years (we don't have an anniversary!) in Philadelphia. I work in clinical research in obstetrics. I'm deeply involved in maternal and child health care and sometimes fight not to let my feminist side rule my judgement at work (stupid hospital systems!). As soon as the BF is done with school we are leaving the East Coast and moving to Oregon or California (or maybe just maybe Hawaii). While I love living in a city and will continue to live in a city no matter where I move in the future, I just can't stand the dirty unplanned East Coast cities for much longer. I love a good beer or a glass (or bottle) of wine and have recently gotten into cooking.

I love all colors, but my favorites in general are green and pink. My favorite to wear are deep reds ranging from ruby to pomegranate/burgundy.

I like almost all music. All time favorites are (old school) Heart and (newer) Sarah McLachlan and Imogen Heap. Haven't been keeping up with the music scene that much lately, but right now I'm also partial to Lily Allen, Feist and Colbie Caillat (sp?). I'm pretty open to new stuff, though I perfer female vocalists.

Too many to list, but at this time of year I usually break out the Harry Potter movies and Love, Actually.

I suspect I'm not cool enough for them. I love visiting the newsstand.

Shopping! I also love reading, though I can never choose a book to read. I'm interested in too many topics (biographies, chick lit, financial self-help and I keep telling myself I will read the classics, but I can't seem to crack open my copy of Mrs. Dalloway). I also watch too much television and too many movies.

What colors do you usually use to decorate your house or room?
Well, I haven't even started buying furniture for our place yet. I plan on using warm colors like deep reds, sage-y greens, and browns with accents in brighter colors. However, that plan could change in the near future. Our bedroom is in calm blues and greens, but it has no furniture.

What kind of jewelry do you like?
I like necklaces laden with charms . On the flip side, I also love a simple, unique pendant on a chain. I wear both gold and silver jewelry, though I need more silver pieces. I don't wear earrings much but I do like cutesy studs. I also love rings and bracelets in organic shapes.

Least favorite color?
There are few colors I dislike, but I'm definitely not a big fan of anything neon. I'm also not the biggest fan of pastels on their own. I'm cool with prints that mix pastels and brights though.

I'm 22 and I just bought a condo with my BF of over six years. I'm a freelance production accountant working in either television or film. I'm actually a pretty big homebody and I'm not into partying or clubbing that much. I think all the other important stuff is up above.

I'm 29 years old, married, and expecting our first baby (a girl). I'm in school studying architecture and love to take photographs. I'm not that great of a cook, although I try. I do however, enjoy baking (cookies, cheesecakes, breads). I adore animals and love purchases that donate some of the proceeds to charities (HSUS, ASPCA, etc.....).

What colors do you usually use to decorate your house or room? My style is Real Simple Magazine-ish/Pottery Barn Kids-ish. I like pale yellow, white, blues, greens, etc. I have no black in my house.

I'm not a big magazine person. I think I'd like a subscription to Domino but I'm not sure I'd read it. I have a subscription to Real Simple (gift), Nylon, Harper's Bazaar, Elle Decor, and TVGuide. Except for the gift subscription, all the others were freebies given out somewhere along the line. I only occasionally read a tvguide and the Elle Decor.

Favorite Hobby?
Reading books, painting, drinking wine, entertaining, playing music (I play the flute in local stuff), home decor, tennis, and TMZ.

Vietnamese food is my favorite. I also love sushi and random bread items (as evidenced by the size of my thighs!). You can't go wrong with chocolate - especially dark chocolate.

Hmmm... I don't like overly cutesy things (things from Hallmark stores or flowery drapes - those kinds of things). I don't want anything related to beef. I'm anti beef.

Other than that, I think I like most everything. I'll edit if I think of something I don't like. Oh I thought of something. I love socks but I'm inept at making them a clothing accessory. It's sad, given my aforementioned love.

What do you need?
Technically I need nothing. I want tons of things but I need nothing. I'm craving a pair of earmuffs though. I found some at Target but they were too small for my head. I used to have a pair of pink ones I absolutely adored but lost somewhere along the way.

8 - like heels and flats (stacked heels though, no stilettos 'cause I can't walk in them)

Clothing size?
Probably Large. I have to try most things on so clothes probably aren't the best idea. But on top I'm between a M and a L.

What colors do you usually use to decorate your house or room?
My living room has tons of colors in it. Red, yellow, apple green, golds, etc. My couch is a watermelon red color and I have a yellow and red striped chair to go with it. Everything else is a neutral or a pop of color (hence the apple green). My dining room ties into my living room with a glass table and refinished chairs in gold velvet.

I'm getting all new bedstuffs for my room so stuff for that would be great. I have light teal curtains and dark teal lamp shades. I'm going for an orange and white duvet cover with a splash of red and the dark teal in the accent pillows. I love pillows from Urban Outfitters and anything in that color family would probably look great.

What kind of jewelry do you like?
I like nothing that an artist in Santa Fe would wear. I tend to shy away from yellow gold as well. I love Peggy Li jewelry. I like color, texture, and simplicity.

Least favorite color?
Browns. I've never looked good in anything related to the brown family. Also no off-white. I look like a big bruise in off-white or cream colors.

A little about yourself:
I never know how to answer these questions. I consider myself a modern, indie chick, with a touch of funk and nerdiness, all rolled into one. (Oh and I'm not terribly indie, even though I just listed it. I'm a serial lie-corrector.) I vary between reading books on a top 10 list somewhere or reading old Sweet Valley High serials. I hate toys but think Rainbow Brite is a legend. I love design sponge and visit it daily, but I hate the idea of reupholstering anything. I'm pretty much in love with my DVR and my laptop. I spend the majority of my time hanging out with my friends and saying inappropriate things. I think I'm funny but I'm pretty sure most people would disagree.
