Secret Santa Theme?

I voted "no theme" because I have a hard enough time as it is picking out gifts.

I like the idea of a theme but actually sticking to it would just be too difficult.

No theme! I find that the wishlist thread we usually post helps way more than a theme.

I voted no theme but then I remembered that I liked the theme idea from years past. I officially change my vote to "theme."

I voted no - I for one had a hard time finding something that worked with both the theme and my gift recipient's tastes, and everytime I found something that worked for one it didn't for the other. I'd hate to give (or receive!) a gift that was bought because it fit with a theme and not for me, since that negates the point a bit.

If people still end up wanting a theme, IMO it needs to be chosen very carefully so as not to eliminate too many gifts. The theme I remember was 'Pink', which was fine as themes go. It was just really hard to find something worth giving since it just didn't really jive with the wishlist of my person, and well, not everyone likes pink! Orienting the wishlist post to contain questions regarding theme-appropriate items would be helpful if a theme is used, too.

It appears there is an obvious majority that would prefer to go without a theme for Secret Santa, so it has been excluded from the participation criteria.
