Was anyone else thoroughly disappointed with Lucky this issue or is it just me? I'm feeling almost like calling them and ending my subscription...I'm just sick of seeing the same old thing replayed.
i feel like they do a TON of layering..it's a little excessive. It's hard for me to ever imagine wearing that much crap since I live in California and it's fairly warm year-round.
I haven't received mine either. It's weird when InStyle makes it before Lucky. I've been sick of Lucky for a while. When my subscription runs out (which it may have already done), I am going to take a break. I think I'm going to subscribe to only Allure.
I started out on LuckyMag's forums. Over and over, I said the same thing. LuckyMag is going to lose a lot of subscribers if they don't start treating them special in at least some small way. Courtney 1982 has it right (below) - Lucky Breaks should be available to only subscribers or those with a special code--or subscribers get an extra entry or something. More control is needed over the forum's administration, etc.
The only thing that is for subscribers is Lucky Rewards!
UPDATE: I just got my issue yesterday (Wednesday). Maybe editors give themselves extra time so they don't have to produce an issue and have it ready smack-dab in the middle of the holiday season.
I let my subscription go about a year ago. Now I browse it at the grocery store while waiting in line. Honestly I dont miss it, It always seems to replay the exact same things.
Seems like we get a thread like this every month with Lucky! I agree...only about 5 pages I marked with anything of interest...and I think that was more beauty product stuff then outfits. I got a "Last Issue" notice and I'm not really feeling the need to resubscribe
Lucky used to be such a great resource for outfit ideas, but I'm just not liking anything lately. I need a new inspiration!
What do you girls think of Marie Claire? I noticed flipping through a month or so back that I liked the outfits and many of the brands featured mixed high-end and affordable which I liked.
halah - I like Marie Claire. I think I get it confused with Glamour a lot when I try to talk about it, so I won't go into specifics, but I do subscribe to it and I never found it worth it to subscribe to Lucky.

I don't know why I still buy it every month. I used to get it for the Lucky Breaks but I haven't won anything in over a year! My luck went away after they started having you go through their website to enter. No need to buy the mag to see the list of websites to visit that were having a giveaway!
It doesn't help that they always use the same models. It's boring and makes me think I'm looking at last months issue.
Anyways I bought Blueprint last month and I really liked it. It has a bit of everything in it with some great ideas and inspiration.
I'm thinking I'll probably drop my subscription too when it runs out. I still like it and everything, but I'll see if I actually miss it if I stop my subscription.
fyi: I thought I would let my subscription run out. I just checked my bank account. They just charged me for another year. I'm too lazy to fight it and it's only $14, so I guess I'll just keep being annoyed by it!
Whew! I'm glad to know there are people who agree with me! Courtney...what's Blueprint like?
It's a Martha Stewart mag. She's a smart gal so you know it has to be good to have her name on it! It has fashion, home, food, crafts, entertaining, and more.

For the most part I like looking though the magazine, but I haven't been finding stuff I love in it anymore. When I first started getting the subscription a couple years ago, I would use the "yes" and "maybe" tabs all the time. Now, I rarely use them, because most of the stuff in there is way out of my price range.
Also, I didn't get my copy in the mail until yesterday!!
Subwolley....I feel the same way. I used to love all the great pics and ideas and I found myself tearing out tons of pages...this time, just one! And Erin: I totally agree...the gift ideas were ridiculous!
I feel like that is true of most mags - they feature rediculously overpriced items that only 1% of their readers can afford but that is the point of the mag I guess.. fantasy.
If I recall correctly, Lucky started as a magazine for people who liked shopping and who liked to shop around for a nice price. I remember there used to be some better priced items, they would often feature products available at the mall, combined with higher products.
It kind of sucks because magazines promote whatever is sent to them for free by PR execs. Its all about who you know, not how nice a dress is (to a certain extent). Some of the outfits I see in these mags are rediculous and I also don't appreciate expensive skincare products either!
I wasn't happy with it either. Some of those delicate, drapey, layered clothes made me think of sweet little old European ladies.
Nice for them, but not for me!
I thought that some of the featured participants, like the jewelry designers and other career women who were in their 20's and 30's, looked 10 years older just by those clothes!
I wish the magazine would focus on less expensive finds rather than eclectic luxury items I cannot afford and would not splurge on anyway if I could.
