What are your favorite Thanksgiving recipes (turkey, sides, desserts, etc.)?
Here's mine:
Thanksgiving Stuffing
Ingredients: 1 stick unsalted butter 6 long stalks celery-chopped 1 onion-chopped coarsely poultry seasoning-3 tsp + to taste thyme-1 tsp + to taste 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 16oz tube sausage 1 16oz bag seasoned croutons (the small croutons) 1 15oz can corn 1 egg beaten in 1/2 cup milk chicken broth- to hold (about a 1/2 cup)
Preheat oven to 350. Saute butter, celery, onion, poultry seasoning, thyme, and parsley in skillet until soft. Add this to the croutons (in a large bowl). In a skillet, cook sausage, continuously separating with 2 forks until brown and crumbly. Add to crouton/sautee mix. Add can of corn to crouton/sautee mix/sausage and season with extra poultry seasoning and thyme to taste. Add egg/milk and chicken broth so mixture holds together. Bake for 1 hour at 350.
As a vegetarian, the only thing I'm ever asked to bring is dessert. I make a helluva pumpkin pie, although these days people seem to want the ice cream more than the pie. I make the basic vanilla ice cream from the ice cream maker's manual, then grate cinnamon sticks into it. It works really well with chocolate cake too.
Carrie Bradshaw: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.
