I bought a "grab bag" from Estee Lauder which was filled with makeup, skincare and fragrances. There are a few fragrance sets - 1.7 oz perfume or cologne and a body lotion or wash, deodorant, etc that I was considering giving as gifts for Christmas since I am really low on money this time around. Trouble is, they're not cello wrapped or in their original boxes, they're just the bottles, not sealed, but still not used. I was planning on buying a little something like makeup bag or wristlette to put the sets in for each person but I am wondering, is this awfully tacky? Will people think I'm giving away my own perfume or something? Will they be skeeved by the fact that its not sealed?
Carrie Bradshaw: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.
Little bags or baskets from the 99-cent store and some cutesy "trimmings" and I think it will be a great gift. I think craft stores sell shrink-wrappy cellophane stuff that you use with a hair dryer; it makes a very professional-looking gift basket.
