I am going to houston this coming weekend... Im having trouble deciding what to pack because it will be about 80 degrees there. I plan on wearing casual skirts and dresses and no jeans while Im there, I just want to make sure I dont look summery.

Any suggestions or tips?

I do have a few j crew courdory minis I was thinking about bringing and a Rachel pally long sleeve jersey wrap dress, but i still dont know about long sleeves there?

I think long sleeves will be fine of your legs are bare? Ive never been there so I can't help much more than that, but I know I've def worn long sleeves here when its been in the 80s. Places will probabaly still have the AC on too, right?

I took a look at the forecast and it looks pretty similar to LA.

I'd actually bring jeans if it's only going to be in the low 80s. From what my BF has told me, the AC is cranked on all the time in Houston. I don't really wear cords until it gets below 70 during the day, so I'd think the cord minis were weirder than jeans. I also wear cotton skirts in less summery colors (navy, brown, etc. etc.)

Definitely bring your RP wrap dress and/or your caftan. I can wear the caftan in 80+ weather in LA but it's great for AC/evenings because of the sleeves.

I usually wear ballet slippers or sneakers in this weather. It's too cold for flips at night, but too warm to wear non Frye boots during the day.

I live in Houston and it has been pretty warm here. Long sleeves would be fine as long as the fabric is not really thick. The weather this time of the year is crazy though because one day it could be hot and then get in the 50's the next. Just keep an eye on the weather as you may need to pack a light sweater if a cold front comes in. When I go out at night I have been wearing either dresses or short sleeve shirts and jeans and have been fine. HTH!

Lilykind your boyfriend is right! We have our AC on about 11 months out of the year. I would so enjoy a cheaper electric bill, but oh well!

If you are on vacation - I'd say dresses, dresses, dresses.  More fun than jeans and more in style than skirts right now.  With boots at night if it cools down.
