Gift ideas needed for friends parents help!
Permalink Closed

Hellloo,
I am going to Australia in Dec for a month and I am staying with a friend. A bit complicated but he is someone I really hope to be with in the future, maybe after we graduate. Anyway back on track, I wanted to buy something for his parents, kind of like a thank you for letting me stay here and Merry Xmas sorta thing. Im searching for ideas. I was thinking of a bottle of nice wine but theres not much thought in that. Not sure if I should have posted this in general chat but I assumed I might get more traffic here. I am at a total loss....please help! Thanks alot! smile.gif

Hmm could be cheesy but maybe a gift basket where you pick out things that the area you live in is known for.
For example for Chicago Garret's popcorn, a second city book things like that but from where you live?

or an ornament from Tiffany's they range in price from $30 to $200

if they are wine drinkers perhaps a nice decanter

I actually just bought an ornament at Kates Paperie of a NYC cab. It was soo cute. I really like the gift basket idea, I think they would be touched by the sentiment. I went on vacation with my friend this summer and I remember him saying his mom likes calenders (he was looking for a souviner). So maybe a calender, ornament, wine and chocolate/candy from Dylans candy store?

Thanks Collette! Any other suggestions or add ons to the basket idea? Thanks so much!

A gift basket is a great idea - especially if uit is personal, like from your local area.
