Thanks for the warm welcome back! I know I've missed talking to a lot of the girls here, so it means a lot that y'all are welcoming me back.

As for what I've been up to...I think the last time I posted I was trying to decide whether or not to go out with a guy who didn't know how to take no for an answer. At the time, I was indecisive because he isn't the type of person I'd normally be interested in. A lot of the girls here gave me some good advice and I think the general consensus was that if I wasn't interested, then I shouldn't go out with him. Unfortunately, I decided not to listen and ended up unhappily dating him for 7 months. In the beginning, our relationship was great. However, I soon learned how controlling and manipulative he can be. Let's just say he's the type of person who thinks he's better than everyone else and always loved talking down to people, especially me. My friends and family hated him from the get-go and at one point I almost chose him over them. I just remember feeling very unhappy and depressed during those 7 months, but never had the courage to call it off...that is until I reached my breaking point. Needless to say, he didn't take the break up too lightly and didn't know how to accept it was over between us. It took awhile for him to get it, but I thank god, he's out of my life now.

Since then, everything's been going very well for me because I've finally been able to focus on myself. Over the past year, I got my promotion at work and a hefty pay raise. I also lost 25 pounds through running and am in the best physical shape I've ever been. As for personal stuff, a while ago I had a much needed short fling with a cute, younger guy. Currently, there's another guy that I've kind of been talking to lately and am friends with. I'm traveling to New York tomorrow for work and he's supposed to go with me, so we'll see how that goes.   It's been a very interesting year so far, but despite the ups and downs I've experienced, I'm feeling very happy and optimistic.
