corduroy bermdas?

I have been cleaning out some closets and drawers and found some dark green corduroy fabric I had forgotten about.  I got the idea to make some corduroy bermuda shorts for fall.  What do you think of corduroy bermudas?  I did a search and can't find any so I am wondering if I would be a fashion victim.

I am far from a fashion expert, but somehow shorts in corduroy doesn't sound right to me. It would be like making a parka out of linen.

I could be way out though and it could be a great unexpected combination.

I've seen coduroy knee length shorts. Almost like capris but a bit shorter with a wide bottom. Not sure what to call them. I think some people can pull them off but whenever I have tried them on I have felt like a "chola". Hee, hee. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm Mexican.
