Keep or Return?
Permalink Closed

I got these today, in this color (borrowed pic from ebay - I got mine at Nordstrom). I really liked this shoe when it came out, and I got an awesome deal ($150). The thing is, I am really focused on saving for some long-term goals at the moment, and I can't decide if this is a smart purchase (i.e., the shoes are versatile and will be somewhat of a funky classic) or if I am being an impractical, blinded-by-the-good-price label whore.

Thoughts?

I'd return, especially since you have other long term goals you'd like to acomplish by saving. I'd personally rather have a pair of closed toed Chloes that are less busy, like the Jodies.

Return, but I'm a big fan of saving, and I think they're cute, but somewhat less than classic (i.e not that versatile and wearable).

Ditto.  Return and then stash the money in a CD or something so you won't be tempted touch it again.

I like them, but don't think it will be a classic style.

I don't know anything about the price of those new. Would you be able to make a profit on Ebay?

Return. I don't think they're all that versatile or practical for walking (though I do understand the appeal of shoes you can't walk too far in!). Keep the big picture in mind and you'll feel better once you've reached those other goals.

Lone dissenter here - I think they are really cute. I would keep them. Greta price for Chloe!

Saving should always be priority to shopping!

That being said here is my take on the shoes.  I can see them for fall with tights (especially those Hue colored ones) and dresses (like knit dresses layered with t-necks, and whatnot).  Maybe, I can see them with a pair of wide legs and -again- the colored tights (or socks with trousers), and a cute, fitted top.  I don't know about next spring.  Plus, like atlgirl said, they don't look super comfy to walk in so how practical would they even be?

Maybe make a pro/con list and see what you come up with that way...  FWIW, I think they are gorgeous and a great deal from Chloe, but if it were me, since I have a baby on the way, I would pass to save the moola.

Thanks, everybody! I decided to try to ebay them (great idea - thank you!) and see if I can turn a profit. If not, I will probably return them. I may keep them, though, because the more I look at my wardrobe, I see how they could be versatile for me. Like Drew said, they have a lot of potential with tights. smile

Oh, and they are actually *incredibly* comfortable. It's shocking.
