Any Bare Minerals Fans Here?
Permalink Closed

I have never tried it, but my friend just raves about it. I would love to try it, but my skin gets really oily as the day goes on....anyone else have that same problem? I'm wondering if this brand will help cut down on this. Also, is it really time consuming to put it on?

I LOVE Bare Minerals. In the summer my skin is oily but it gets really dry in the winter... the worst of both worlds. Too cut down on shininess I put a mattifier under the Bare Minerals foundation and it works wonders. Honestly, without the mattifier I get shiny on the nose later in the day but with the mattifer my makeup is set until I wash it off. I've tried several brands, but I like Smashbox Anti-Shine.

Also, it doesn't take me a long time to apply. When I wore liquid foundation, it took longer because I was always stopping to wash my hands. Like anything, you get the hang of it and it becomes second nature. I think what brushes you use determines how long it takes. I prefer the brushes that give more coverage so it doesn't take long at all. FYI: my favorite brushes (the Maximum Coverage Face Brush and the Heavenly Face Brush) don't come in the starter kit and you have to buy them seperate.

Love it. Give it a try. My MIL & SIL are converts now. It doesn't take long to apply once you get the hang of it. I think it has helped my oily skin look better.

Love it. BE is the only foundation I'll use when my skin is acting up. I find that it becomes second nature to apply as you continue to use it. I use a big fullfy kabuki brush from Valerie Beverly Hills to apply it. The only time I don't use it is if I'm applying makeup on the way to work.

I have pretty oily skin, and I only ever get shiny with BE during the hottest days of summer. I think it actually looks better as the day goes one and it blends into your skin.

And for whatever reason, strangers always say I have great skin whenever I wear it. The only other combo that gets people to say that is Giorgio Armani Matte Silk Foundation + GA Silk Foundation Powder. BE is far more widely available and less than half the price.

Bare Escentuals = the company, which also makes MD Formulations Skin Care and

i.d. Bare Minenrals = the actual product.

Except that when I go to Sephora, I always feel like everyone goes "Are you wear Bare Escentuals?" or "Can I get you to try Bare Escentuals"  in reference to the actual makeup.

I tried it years ago (in the 1990s when QVC first started selling it). The foundation and mineral veil thing didn't work for me; although, I did like Warmth and use it to this day when I want a warm, terra cotta color. I tried again, more recently, at the store- -still with no luck. I wanted to try it under the watchful eye of a representative at the BE store in my mall, but I got a little skittish when I saw how powdery and overdone the employees looked.

Side note: THis seems very important. It has always been confusing to me over the years.

Thanks everyone for your opinions! I think I'm convinced! I'm going to head to Sephora this weekend and buy it. I'm so excited!
