I love fashion and pay close attention to details. I had a subscription to Vogue and Harper's Bazaar at 14. I don't always express this in real life - I wear jeans and casual tops most days - but I definitely have a good sense of what works and what doesn't especially on other people. I get my shoe addiction from my mom but I just realized the rest comes from my dad. He is a tough guy in his 60s, but deep down I think he is a style maven.

I just called him and we were talking for a while, so I told him about my friend's dress dilemma (I posted it in shopping and fashion). I kind of felt like I was babbling about something he could care less about. I told him that the dress was gray and cream and I told her to get black patent leather shoes and a brightly colored clutch but that I caused last minute drama when she called to tell me she bought a red patent clutch. I told her I wouldn't have chosen that and she went into a panic. He said "What's wrong with that? I think red would work well with gray and cream." I said it wasn't the color, it was that I wouldn't want to wear patent shoes and carry a patent bag. He agreed, but then said most people wouldn't think twice about it, she probably looked fine. LMFAO!!!

Then I had a flashback to high school. I needed a dress but didn't want to spend a lot. He took me to a thrift store and picked out a black slip that was too revealing. I told him I could never wear that. He picked up a sheer shirt dress and told me it was all about layering.
