The mail lady is soooo lazy!
Permalink Closed

So earlier I was out in the driveway and noticed a box laying on the ground. Didn't notice it the whole time I was out, nor when I drove up earlier in the day. Turns out it's a package for me, a wool jacket I had won on ebay.

I'm so ticked off. If I didn't see it there, who knows what could have happened to it. The mail lady probably just tossed it out the window of her mail truck. I don't know if USPS has a policy with package handling, but I think she should have at least put it on the porch. When I'm home and she comes to deliver something, she usually honks her horn and sits on her lazy butt in her truck until I come out to her. Sometimes there is a different mail lady and she actually comes to the door. So it must be personal choice.

I know I'm not the only one here who has problems with their mail deliverers, so I think USPS needs special service training for their delivery people. Oh, and something else that bugs me is how she puts the mail in the mail box all the way to the back of the box so it is really hard to grab it when I pull the car up to the box to get the mail.

    Okay, end of rant!

You should make a complaint otherwise the behavior never changes.

My UPS guy used to ring the bell and run to his car to drive away. By the time I got down one flight of stairs, he'd be down the block and left me a note saying he missed me. This happened about 10x. They are not supervised so they get away with whatever they want to. They probably end their shift when they are finished with the day's packages so its not in their benefit to actually take the time to make sure you get it.

That's ridiculous.  What if it was raining or some kids or dog happened to come upon it?  I'm afraid to complain about the mail carrier here in fear of retaliation!

I can't stand lazy mail couriers, or any couriers for that matter. The UPS man comes out to my house, my Mom was home this one time, and the FOOL just left the package on our front porch, w/o having my Mom sign for it. Idiot.

I've signed an order with UPS and FedEx authorizing to leave things without a signature. My front porch is pretty safe and secluded so nobody walking down the street would even notice a package.

Could be an option for some of you too...but now I work from home a lot, so the UPS guy and I are on a first-name basis.
