Saw it in-store this week and it is to die for - the color is so much more vibrant IRL verging on teal, and the details are really nice.  Currently $218. 

I'm not usually much of a BR shopper, so for those of you that are what do you think the chances of this going on sale reasonably soon are?  At all?

Also, do we think getting a coat in a classic style but in a punchy color is wise and will stay versatile?  I'd like to get at least 5 years of wear from it and don't want to find out that brightly colored outerwear was just a passing, if long-lived, trend after the fact.

I'm weird about coats without collars.  However, that is beautiful and the color is gorgeous.  I think you'd be able to wear it for a few years, for sure.

i agree with kmd about the collar. apart from that, i LOVE the colour; as it's not a weird/unusual colour, i don't think it will look out of style anytime soon

I actually like how its unique by not having a collar. And I also think that color could be worn for 3-4 years maybe even 5 from now.

I've been eyeing that coat as well, so of course I love it! I think that it is a classic shape and color. It has a bit of a retro feel with the covered buttons, but whats great is that the buttons can be changed to something else if you choose. I'm not quite sure about how soon the coat will go on sale, but depending on what size you are, it might not be available by the time the price is reduced. Thats just my experience since I need the smaller petite sizes.

I think it will go on sale. My only concern would be quality. I have items from BR that have held up for years and I have had others fall apart quickly.

You know, this isn't exactly my style, but I think the coat is extremely striking and the color is beautiful. Although it is somewhat "of the moment", I think it will still be great to wear for years.

very pretty- love the color!
I wonder about the fit though- it looks like it only buttons to the waist which might make it pull funny or open when you walk if you have any sort of hips.

I'm definitely going to get this coat this winter. I saw it in the store today and it is gorgeous. The color is really beautiful.

FWIW, the salesman said that they were selling really fast, so I'm not sure if they're going to have it on sale. I think I'm going to wait a few weeks and see if they still have it. BR is really good about giving price adjustments if you bought an item within two weeks before it went on sale.

I think a classic cut like that is very much a smart buy. I'm not bothered by the collar...I think it's actually very cool. You should definitely get it!

How many of them were at your BR? I used to work for them and yes the coats would DROP dramatically in price, like say $50 the first markdown. However, we were a smaller store and probably carried one of each size so by the time it went on sale, we maybe had one XL in the store.

I think $218 is a good price for the coat though and I have seen the color and wow it is vibrant.

Thanks so much for all the opinions, girls!  The no-collar doesn't bother me, since it doesn't really get that cold here and I have a short neck to begin with wink.gif.

My store had 10 or 12 out on the floor, up front so it looks like they got them recently.  I'd need a petite size though which I didn't see in-store, so I'd likely have to order online.  Maybe I'll give it a few weeks and see if a code pops up before I go for it smile.gif.

ETA: I am pretty sure you get free shipping on anything from the petite line since they don't sell it in stores. Code is PETITE. (You can stack codes at BR.)
