do ON jeans stretch or shrink?

I always hate buying jeans because I don't know which ones will stretch out with wear and which ones will shrink in the wash.

Anyway, yesterday I bought some Old Nay "flirt" jeans. They feel basically good, just an eensy bit too small when I'm standing up (I tried on the next size up and they were way too big), but when I sit down my whole hips/thighs/tummy region feels horribly squished. Problem is, I didn't realize this sitting conundrum until I took off the tags and got to work today.

So, if they're prone to shrinking, I'll have to give them away, but if they stretch out a little I'll just have to suffer through today. That's where I need you ladies!

I don't know about ON jeans but in my experience they all stretch. If you are worried about them shrinking, don't dry them in the dryer.

I think I bought the same ones assuming they would stretch and wore them to work. They didn't really stretch that day and I haven't really wanted to wear them since because they were uncomfy when I sat down. I was thinking about wearing them around the house while they are slightly damp.
 
My experience with low end denim (and high end, too) is that they all stretch with time.

ON jeans definitely shrink. And just for proof, I was in the store a couple of weeks ago looking at thier new line of jeans, (none which fit me right) and one of the sales persons told me their jeans shrink at least 20%.

20%!!!!!! geez, thats significant! is that way more than most jeans or am I out of it. It makes sense tho because my Gap jeans always shrink a ton, too.

Shrink has been my ON denim experience for some jeans. Others got holes in the knees quickly (I worked at job that required me to be on the scratchy, carpeted floor a lot).

Collegegirl, that's what the guy said. I couldn't believe it. Needless to say, I didn't buy the jeans. I just thought to myself, "Well, what a crappy pair of jeans! 20%!"

oh my gosh, 20%!

They ended up stretching out enough to make it through the day - by the time lunch rolled around, I decided it wasn't worth going home to change, and by the end of the day they fit me pretty well. But now I'm afraid to wash them! I guess I'll air-dry and hope for the best hmm

Well jeans are mostly cotton so yea cotton shrinks right? I guess the higher end denim is prewashed and therefore won't shrink much.

TTara, air dry or dry in cool setting once you get the shape you like.

Has anyone ever tried to dry a pair of jeans to purposely make them shrink only to have the hem come up 2 inches??

I bought a pair of the Flirt jeans from ON as well. They stretched so much that they're way too big for me now and I need a smaller size. I can wash them and they fit alright (still bigger than when I purchased them) but by the end of the day they're too, too big all over again. I think I'm giving up on ON jeans. I get sucked in because I hardly ever wear jeans and ON seems like a good solution when I need to wear a pair. No more thrifty jean bargains for me.

That was my DD and I's experience as well. We both have the Divas. They fit fine for a few hours then start to stretch and stretch. My DDs are stretching in the thighs but mine are in the waist. I'm hoping they do permanently shrink but after washing and machine drying it hasn't happened. They were dirt  cheap but still, it's annoying. doh

In my experience and other of my friends our jeans from ON actually stretched out.
