My grandmother who is 90 years old isn't doing too well right now. She is living in Mexico so it's kind of hard not being there for her. This past weekend when my mom called she was basically out of it. She couldn't talk and when we called again this week my grandmother was saying things like why am I in this warehouse and get me out. We came to the conclusion that it's probably because of the new medicine the doctor had prescribed about a week and a half ago. Still since we are not to sure me and my family are worried. It really hit me when I had to hear my mom crying the other day because she could hear my grandmother yelling while my mom was talking to my cousin. And today my grandma kept thinking that my older brother is over there visiting her. She kept saying how she was happy that he was there and why hadn't he taken his parents and sisters with him. I was able to talk to her and she, like she always does, told me to give it all had towards school and that that would take me far. And then she asked me how my dance went the other day. I didnt go to a dance. And we've been noticing things like that, that she brings up other subjects that have probably never happend or they happend years ago. Another doctor will go to her house to see whats wrong on Monday but I just feel so frustrated that I can't be there for her, to calm her down. So I guess the favor that I am asking for is if ya'll could keep my family and my grandmother in your prayers and thoughts. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
My family lives in Tennessee and I live in Texas so I know how hard it is to be far away during difficult times. I will be praying for you and your family that your grandmother is better soon.
Carrie Bradshaw: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.
Thank you everyone so much for the nice thoughts. Unfortunately, things haven't gotten any better. My grandma is still the same. My cousin who cares for my grandmother is four months pregnant and her house was broken into the day of her Birthday Thursday. They took everything they could possibly find; clothes, jewelry, appliances, documents & keys. My aunt, we found out today, had to be taken to the hospital. Her blood pressure has been super high lately and it could be possible, although not sure, that she had a small stroke or is at high risk of having one. Everythings just falling out of place & I would give anything to be there right now.
I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know what it feels like not being by family during difficult times, but you are still there for them, if you know what I mean.
