Temperley for Target review
Permalink Closed

My local Target had some Temperley stuff out already, so I took some pics for you all of the stuff I tried on. In general, it seemed nice -- quality was similar to other Go collections, and it ran pretty small IMO, at least for Target. Pics are crappy quality, sorry. They're from my cell phone. Feel free to add your own!

I can't post them here, but you can see the promo pics here

First, the bad:

Wide-leg salior pants
Image0551_edited.jpg picture by halleybirdbleh. SO unflattering on me. I look stumpy. I did like them, but the material was sort of meh, and you actually have to unbutton the sailor buttons, which made me think of those PJs with the button-bottoms. No thanks. FYI, I am normally a 0-2, and I took a 3 in these, and maybe could have used a 5.

The eh:
Tie-neck blue/black blouse

Image0571_edited.jpg picture by halleybirdthe color and fit is really pretty IRL, but it's a bit shorter than I'd like, and pretty low-cut. Would need some sort of cami underneath. Still, I did really like it. I tried on an XS, but would probably get it in a S, since it felt a bit tight.

The good:

grey ruffle blouse
Image0581_edited.jpg picture by halleybirdI LOVED this, even though it made me feel a bit "Mr. Darcy." The material is chiffon-y, and the color is great, and it fit nicely. The bodice isn't sheer, either, which I love. I didn't get it, only because I think it needs someone with a funkier style. I already give off a librarian vibe, and I am afraid this would make it worse. Plus I have a LOT of grey. I tried on an XS & it fit perfectly.

Leaf-print sweater:

Image0541_edited.jpg picture by halleybirdLoved this too. This was black and cream rather than black & white, which was a nice surprise. The sleeves felt a bit "Edward Scissorhands," but it was nice & long and well-cut. It's 100% cotton, so hopefully no pilling. I bought this with visions of wearing it with my black pencil skirt and my black & cream maryjanes. The one in the pic was an XS, but I bought a S, since it is obviously too tight.

So, did I do the right thing? I do like this collection better than any of the previous ones. They had other stuff I didn't try on, so LMK if you have questions.

The collection is very cute. A lot of blacks, whites and grey. But there is a cropped cobalt blue jacket with ruffles that is very pretty.

All in all I thought the stuff was pretty cute. Funky feminine.

Thanks for enabling me, lol. Do you have any outfit ideas for me? Everything I can think of (other than jeans) seems too stuffy/librarian. It comes in this color too:

I like the gray best.  I think it would look cute with some black cropped cigarette/skinny pants and some flats, maybe burgandy/red patent ones.  Also, with skinny jeans tucked into black boots.
This skirt would look cute with it too:

Another idea, colored cords like these from JCrew:

My color picks; burgandy, eggplant, navy or peacock.

I agree on the skinny black pants idea, or anything with an 'edge' - such as mannish pinstriped/cuffed slacks and killer heels.

I'm sure many people have mentioned this, but you're a fantastic writer. I love your references and you have me laughing about giving off a "librarian vibe."
