So I shipped to the wrong address...
Permalink Closed

Ok I feel sooo stupid. I ordered something from Gap online and I didn't change the shipping address to my new house.  The package went to my old apartment about a week ago. ashamed
Has anyone ever done something as dumb this this?  I called the apartment complex and they have not seen or heard anything (they stopped signing for packages a few months ago).
I e-mailed the Gap - I don't see them re-sending the stuff since it was my mistake...
Thanks.  hmm

I did that a few weeks ago with a package from Nordstrom. I called Nordstrom and the overnighted the package to my correct address as soon as it was returned to me for free. I guess their CS is a bit better than the Gap tho. Hope it works out for you!

I had something similar happen with American Eagle. The only thing I entered wrong was my zipcode (off by one number). Since they use USPS parcel post, the post office it arrived at wouldn't forward it to the correct post office. Anyway, long story short, because it was the USPS, a month passed before they shipped it back to AE. I had given up on ever seeing it again about a week before AE got it back, so I called CS and just reordered everything. They were nice enough to honor my expired coupon code, give me an additional discount and free 2nd day shipping through FedEx. They promised to refund my original order once they received it. They also told me that after a certain time period, they would consider it lost and refund me.

Instead of it working out that way, I ended up getting both packages. I'm happy I did because I love the jeans and would have eventually ordered another pair anyway.

FWIW, I never admitted to the typo being my fault and I never blamed them or got nasty even though I was super annoyed. They volunteered the discounts and free shipping.

So we were out today and stopped by the apartment.  The manager was there, and she asked the tenant, who said he gave the box to a girl named Margaret, who is the maintenance person.
The manager called Margaret, but she asked her in a leading way: "You didn't accept a package did you, because we know not to accept packages?"
Margaret said no...she probably didn't want to get in trouble!!
So if it's not at the office someone pretty much took it, and I don't think it was the tenant considering he's a middle-aged single man!
Well now I'm just hoping The Gap will re-ship the package b/c the apartment complex is clearly not going to help me.

I have done it...stupid Yahoo checkout told me my address was updated, and then when I bought something, it wasn't. I didn't realize until I got the shipping confirmation. I called UPS several times and they said they changed the address en route, but they never did. It got returned to the sender & I had to pay shipping again.
