FOUND THEM!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the support everyone---they were in the new place all along!!!!!!! __________________________________
I'm a wreck. I've been moving and this morning I went to put on my favorite work shoes (cole haan brown mary janes w/ a low heel, perfect blend of practical and pretty) and I can't find them ANYWHERE! They're not in the new place and I don't think they're in the old place and they're not in my car and I think I've LOST them. How can this be happening????
Plus because of the whole shoe fiasco I was late to work and I have to interview this candidate in 17 minutes (the elegant writer) and all I can think is WHERE THE F*** ARE MY SHOES?!?!?!?!
Thanks for letting me rant you guys. I can't even talk about it because I will start to get really upset and then everyone will think I am crazy!
I'm so sorry and I totally understand. when I moved I lost an entire box of dresses somewehre along the way. Ones I can never replace and noone understood why I was so upset over dresses! I hope they turn up for you!

Ok, I'm trying to put the chain of events in order right now, maybe that will help:
I was subletting my friend's place in Santa Monica over the summer. Her place was fully furnished so I just moved in my summer clothes, shoes and toiletries. All my other stuff, including furniture, other clothes and shoes, various knick knacks are all stored at my parents' house.
Those shoes are definitely shoes I took w/ me to the Santa Monica apt. I've worn them throughout the summer. I think the last time I wore them was last Friday, a week ago.
I decided to rent out my old professor's friend's guest house because it's closer to work and rent is cheaper. Plus the guest house is very cute, small but cute. So, I got the keys to the guest house last Friday, a week ago, so I could begin moving my clothes, shoes, etc in last weekend so I wouldn't have to do it all this weekend. Oh and the guest house is also furnished. So, I started moving last weekend. I bought a bunch of laundry baskets, loaded my shoes into them and hauled them over there. I keep all my shoes in their original boxes. Each laundry basket fit about seven boxes of shoes. Then when I got to the guest house, I stacked up all the shoes in the floor of the closet.
I'm still sleeping in the SM apt. But I went over to the guest house today because all my suits are already there and I needed to wear a suit to work today because we were interviewing that girl. So, I put on my suit, go to put on my shoes and they ARE NOT THERE. I looked through the stack twice. Looked around the guest house, did not see them. Their box is missing too. And I *think* I remember putting them in their box, in fact there's no way I wouldn't have. So anyway, at this point I am late, I put on other brown shoes (YSL brown open toe high heels, still goes w/ the suit but not as practical or comfortable) and had to leave for work. I didn't have enough time to go back to SM to check to see if the shoes are there.
Maybe that shoebox fell when I was carrying the basket to my car from the elevator last weekend? But how could I not notice if a shoebox fell to the ground??? Ugh, I feel like I will never know what happened to them!
