Help with dyed shirt
Permalink Closed

Today I am wearing a peach ella moss shirt over my new (washed several times though) dark AG jeans.  These jeans have always turned by hands and things blue, but I thought they were past doing that.  Apparently not.  They dyed my shirt blue where it was touching the jeans and it has faded through to the front since the fabric is so thin.  Has anyone had a problem with this?  Is there anyway to save my shirt and keep my jeans from dying other things?

TIA!

The dye might come out of the shirt if you wash it or take it to a dry cleaner (might want to take it to the dry cleaners first and see what they say).

I HATE jeans that do this. I have about 3 pairs that continually dye my shoes/bags/clothes even though they've been washed numerous times. I don't get it.

I don't know how to save your clothes in the future, but yesterday the women I work with were raving about some product called "Zout" - one woman spilled red pop all over a white shirt, and it hung in her closet for months while she tried to get the stain out with other products and didn't succeed. She used Zout the other day and apparently now it's good as new.

I hate when that happens.Last week a pair of my jeans faded onto one of my leather handbags, and I'd never had a problem with the jeans before.

I vaguely remember seeing a product one that was supposed to set dyes so they don't fade, but I don't remember the name of it. I let you know if I find it.

If you want dye to stay in the clothes, supposedly vinager works but I've never tried it.  I think it was like 1/2 cup or something.

Now we are on topic of it, does anybody know how to get liquid foundation stain out?  Before my shower, I was telling myself I should move my clothes away from the sink but I didn't.  And guess what...somehow when I was putting makeup on, a nice sized drop spilled on my favorite white top!  I immediately soaked it in water and washed it, did no good!!! cry
