How versatile is this JCrew sweater?

I love the print of this sweater, but I am wondering how many different ways I can wear it throughout the fall and winter.  Also, I'm worried I will get tired of the print.

Does anyone have any outfit ideas?  How much use would you get out of such a distinct sweater?

TIA!

I think it could be versatile to a point. You could wear it open with a brown cami and jeans, buttoned up with a denim skirt and brown boots, and basically with any brown basic like a skirt, pants, or over a dress.

So yes you can wear it more than one or two ways, but it's not the most versatile thing in the world. I think as long as most of the rest of your outfit is pared-down and brownish, it would be great. I don't know how it would look with blue - that might be too much blue, you know know? You'd have to experiment.

Personally, that print hurts my eyes...so I'm inclined to think you may get tired of it. I think it can be versatile, but it's definitely going to be the stand out / focal item of any outfit you put together with it. So just don't add any other "busy" stuff with it...

You can wear it with different solid colors from the print. Wear with white pants when it is transitioning from summer to fall; wear with black or brown other times. I don't think it's versatile. But, if you like it, that is what matters. I wonder if it is thin enough to treat like a shirt and put under a cute jacket to add a pop (or a couple pops) of color. You could wear a thin, white cami made of a fine weave fabric. I'm just brainstorming different ways to wear it.

I'm contemplating getting that sweater too!!! The moment I saw it, I feel in love, but I'm having trouble deciding if a sweater I could wear to work maybe only twice a month (because it's so bright/memorable) is worth $110...so I'll appreciate any ideas as well. I like polly's idea of wearing it with white pants; i hadn't thought of that since I'm so focused on fall!

I really like it. Old Navy had a similar design last 2006 winter, and I am still kicking myself for not getting it. I had the samt thoughts as you did, but then I've seen how other girls have worn the sweater and it looks great. You can combine with red, yellow, black, brown, turqouise.

Versatile no. Pretty, yes. Wait till it goes on sale, then you can justify the purchase!

I was at a restaurant last night when I saw a woman wearing this sweater.  She had a chocolate brown knee-length skirt, camel moc flats and a caramel colored bag.  Her hair was dark chocolate brown, very shiny, and up in a modified pompador.  Her glasses were very bold, striking black frames (maybe D&G or something).  It was easy to notice her but the sweater wasn't obnoxious or overwhelming.  It was fun to see the sweater IRL after having discussed it on the board.

I think it's really gorgeous...and would probably buy it in the hopes that I can find multiple ways to wear it.
