I just finished this last night...it was incredible. I put off reading it because second novels are usually a disappointment for me (esp when the first is so good), but it was amazing. I highly recommend it.

Funny you mention it, I was 2 seconds from buying this book yesterday but I was too cheap to swing the $26 for it. I'm waiting for it to come out on paperback.

this book was amazing!  hosseini is a fantastic writer.  once i started it, i could not put the book down.  everyone needs to read this book!!

I have decided that it was actually better than The Kite Runner. Probably the best book (written after 1940) that I have ever read, and in my top 5 overall. And I've read a lot of books!
ETA: I bawled like a baby during this book though. I found it more hopeful/less depressing than The Kite Runner though.

Agree completely. I bawled as well. I stayed up all night reading and finished it in one day- that's how much i couldn't put it down.

I read both of his novels and this one was my favorite. Such a good author.
