Luggage- AGAIN!
Permalink Closed

Hi girls.  I decided against getting a leather carry-on as of now- the one I truly wanted was too big to meet carry on standards.  I am looking for a replacement to my broken, cheapo carry on and saw one I really liked in my grandma's issue of Good Housekeeping (though it was a larger size.)  I really liked the color and found it on ebags.

here is the link for stats/reviews:

It is Victorionox/Swiss Army brand (which I think i trust) but it is $300 (on sale.)  Does anyone have any experience with this brand?  Is it worth it?  Keep in mind that i use my carryon often (either on planes or trips home- probably at least once a month.) and am sick of having budget luggage break on me.  I want something that I like, that i like the look of, and that is good quality.

I have a carry on bag from them, and it's lasted me for a good while and has been dragged from hell and back.

One place to look for better luggage is your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls. The one near me has a lot of well-made brands, like Briggs & Riley and Samsonite, and that's where I usually buy my luggage, and they are at pretty good prices. I've even seen some Coach luggage there once.

I don't have any experience with ther particular brand you are interested in but I can second the recommendation to check TJ Maxx or Marshalls.  They always have lots of high quality luggage in stock.

You can definitely count on the quaility of Swiss Army.

As escrime said, TJ Maxx always has a ton of luggage and I've seen victorinox/swiss army there a lot.  luggagesource.com has a bunch, too.

Another vote for TJMaxx I always check there first for luggage.  As for brands I honestly never stray from Samsonite or Delsey.  I fly twice a week with nothing but my samsonite carry-on that thing has been thrown into more cabs, overhead compartments, rental cars, trains, across the world, and dragged blocks in NYC and the thing is still in good shape for 2 years, and rolls like a dream (the wheels always go bad on cheaper bags).

My only other tip is to get a black bag if you're going to use it a lot.  As much as I love having a flashier bag it gets SO nasty so fast.  I have a big orange Delsey and I love that it's easy to find but it's so dirty looking after only a year.

I say go for one of the higher-line samsonites.

I just wanted to add...the feature on my bag I like the most is that it has a soft rubberized pull handle and the other handles on the bag are very soft cushioned leather.  That absolutly saves your hands when carrying the bag around...
