back when we were discussing jewelry making, I told you about a ring I made and promised to post a pic of it. I am wearing it today, so here's my opportunity...

it's two bands of silver offset, and the outermost band is raised from the inner band where the cutouts and emerald are ( to create depth and shadow for the cut outs.) I bezel set the emerald (that's a paper clip under it so it wouldn't roll)

I took a jewelry making class at the University of Michigan as an elective for my BFA.  I would think a community college might offer some jewelry making classes as well...

OH. MY. GOD.  i LOVE it!!!  I love rings but they are usually too frilly for me - this is more my style.  When are you going so start selling? smile
