We are throwing my father a big party in Nov. for his bday, and I need a dress. Nothing too dressy but just cute enough. How is this, is it too "little girl"? Too much of a risk of being unflattering?

I think it's cute and I love the color but I think it could add weight. Check out the models legs - she's very, very thin, but she looks bigger in the dress.

I like the sleeves and the neckline, but it looks tent-y to me. I agree it may look unflattering on anyone who's not tall and very thin.

I have been looking at that dress too. It's cute but I was worried about it being to baggy or looking frumpy om me.For some reason that shape in a dress always make me odd.
It has potenial to be unflattering.

I really like that dress and I'm thinking about ordering it too. I think it has potential to be unflattering, but I tried a dress on similar to it and I liked it a lot. Luckily, with Nordstrom, I'm going to risk it and order it because shipping is never more than $5 and free returns.

As long as you don't wear cutsie shoes and accessories, you could probably pull it off. Def try it on. With fall apparel not completely out yet in stores, you can afford to keep looking if the purple dress doesn't do it for you.

I think it's really cute. The purple is a vey pretty color, but there's something about the red, gray, green printed one that's really cool. The other nice thing is that for early fall I think it would look cute with tights, boots and a turtleneck underneath.

I think it looks young, but it's cute. With the right accessories, it'll work. I saw this pix and thought it looked similar...

I liked the dress in the catalog but once I saw it in real life I was disappointed.  The material is thing, and it was super wide.
I'm pretty thin and it looked huge and boxy in a bad way, not at all like the picture.  I'd say unless you're quite tall, it won't be as flattering (I'm 5'5).  HTH.
