Hutch help, bad pic's included
Permalink Closed

I'm looking for a hutch to go in my dining room.  Hubby is being a poo-poo in the idea department so I need some help!  The house pic's I'm posting are from when we first moved in and some things were still unfinished and very messy!

The kitchen and dining room are really one big room separated by the breakfast bar and a different ceiling in the dining room.

Kitchen:
of=50,590,442

Granite:                                                         Dining & Chairs
Sapphire Blue Brown Set of two dining chairs in wenge finish solid wood
The chair isn't what I have but it's the exact same color combo (dining table also)

Top 1/2 of dining room, the fan blades have been switched too a darker color:

After all that!  My question is, can I get away with a black hutch?  I really like this one from Crate & Barrel and thought the distressed part would work with our granite.

Sorry for all the pic's, but I really need some feedback!!!

I think that hutch would look great and fit the vibe of the rooms.

I have black, mahogany, and even stained pine mixed together in my living and dining rooms and I love how the mix looks.

Thanks for responding girls!  I really wanted to mix it up some, the kitchen is just too "new" looking.  I really want a piece that will add some character but Hubby thinks everything has to look/be brand new.

Your kitchen is beautiful! I agree that the hutch will look fine. All the wooden pieces in your home doesn't need to all be the same.

Yes - it brings the granite and the black chair upholstery into the mix nicely. This is a good example of why men just shouldn't waste their time thinking.

I have that granite on my living room fireplace, by the way. We're granite twins!

I agree with the others -- I love the hutch. Your kitchen is lovely, and the DR ceiling is so cool!

Thanks everyone!  smile.gif
It's nice to hear positive feedback.  Hubby and I spent about 2 years ripping pages out of magazines and home design books.  We then plopped them down on the architects desk and said, "make this a house for us!"

You deserve all the props. Great job. I know what a nightmare this can be! I hear some marriages don't even survive this sort of thing.
