Arm hair blond?

This is a little bit of an odd question but - Has anyone dyed their arm hair blond?  If so, what product did you use?  Would hair dye work?

I never have, but I would think it would work. I'd think it would be like dying eyebrows, which I have done with a swipe of hairdye at the end, for only a few minutes and being very careful.

Maybe try the just-for-men facial hair stuff. It should be gentle, made to sit on skin, and quick.

Do they still make sun-in? That would be harmless, or the old lemon juice trick.

yes- use jolen creme bleach- you can buy it in the drugstore. works great, but it's kind of torturous waiting for it to work.

now i use an epilator and it's 1000x better than bleaching or waxing!

Yep, I used to but I quit because it was weird with the roots poking out.... I either had dark roots and blond hair, or I would re-bleach it every week or two and have arm hair that was super-light at the ends since it had been bleached a few times.

Anyway, if you still want to do it I used Sally Hansen and it worked well. It itches like a bitch, though, so be sure to use enough of the pre-conditioner they include. I always had like half a bottle left over at the end because I never used enough, so don't be afraid to use as much as you need.

omg epilators are evil! So painful! I have never tried to dye my armhair bc I have blonde armhair... but I do know that bleach fattens the cuticle of the hairs so I wonder if it would look funny..

why not wax

I bleach my arm hair all the time with Jolen (available at drugstores and Ulta). The sun won't bleach it out; and I don't like the potential for stubble if I remove the hair).  I go for months.

I do have those darker roots, but I don't think others can see them.  If  you have ever used Nair or any other depiliatory, Jolen feels like that.  Be sure to apply it carefully, relatively quickly (so it lightens at the same time for all  portions of both arms), covering all hair that you want to bleach (try to get it on the whole hair without rubbing it into your skin too much).  I actually mix the creme and accelerator in my hands  instead of using that stupid spatula and mixing card.  I just grab a glob of cream and sprinkle in the accelerator--mix them in my hands and smooth on.

One more tip: I bleach right before I shower.  I make sure I don't have any clothes on (TMI-sorry), bleach arm hair, and hop in shower when it is time to rinse.  Convenient.

Yep.  I used to use Sally Hansen.  It worked fine, I just reapplied whenever I noticed roots.  It did itch, but I endure pain for beauty.  It was also awful inhaling those chemicals too, so I haven't done it in a while because it got to be such a hassle.  I shave now instead, which isn't as nice.

I use Sally Hansen, too.  It makes the hair softer, as opposed to coarser IMO.  I have really dark hair, and roots are just really not that noticeable even to me.

I use the mixing spatula to scratch my arms while the bleach is working, when it gets really bad idea .  It's something to do while you're standing there, anyhow.

Great Idea Polly jean with the mixing in your hands!

Thanks everyone.  I am going to try it this weekend and see what happens.  Let you know!

Since I want an epilator for facial hair first and foremost, I'm gonna get this one:
Emjoi EPI Slim Hair Removal System$20 at target

If I like it and I can stand the pain, I'm gonna get the one Twinkle suggested for my arms and legs.

I know I'm late to add my .02 here, but I wanted to recommend Nair sensitive skin formula as another option.  I've been using it for about 4 months now, and I'm SO happy with this method.  I've tried waxing, an epilator and bleaching and this has given me the best results: slow regrowth, and no weird roots on my dark hair.  I only have to do it once every couple of weeks and it takes three minutes.  No red bumps or irritation either, unless I accidentally leave it on too long.
HTH!
