On the radio today they were offering a suggestion that the reason for Brit's behavior recently could be that she was raped/ sexually assaulted. They said its common for girls who are sexually assaulted to either cut their hair very short or shave their heads. I thought it was bogus but immediately calls started pouring in from girls who had done this to "make thmselves ugly" after being raped. What do you guys think?

Well, anything is possible. Often when people go through a life-changing event, like divorce, etc., they will make a big change to their appearance.
I kind of buy the theory I heard, which was K-Fed knew she was partying hard and threatened to get a court-ordered drug test during the custody fight, so she shaved off the evidence. She seems dumb enough to do that.
hmmm, that sounds pretty believable too. (not that thhis is any of my concern anyway!)

It seemed weird to me that she looked so unhappy immediately after doing it. I think if she was doing it as a release, or out of anger, there would be such a liberating high right after seeing yourself bald... either way its sad. And I was so looking fwd to seeing a Mia Farrow-like pixie do, hate those extentions!
i'm sure she shaved her head for some reason (i think the kfed-drug-test-threat is a probable one), but trying to apply logic to britney is... well... a lost cause.
I don't think she did it to avoid a drug test. For gov't agencies at least, if you are bald (naturally or otherwise) and have to take a drug test, they take hair from other places. So unless she shaved off all of her body hair (I think incl. eyebrows, but not sure), they could have still made her take the test.
I mean, in a sense she was raped by the world. That sounds lame..but think about it, since she was like 15 she was put in sexy clothes and sexualized by everyone. hat's gotta do major psychological damage.

Yeah, but she's probably too dense to realize that they could take hair from other places.

This is true, but the hair would most likely be too short to give any real history. I took a pharmacology class once and approximately an inch of hair will relay the drug use of a given month..so two inches gives you two months worth of drug information. You also need the hair follical depending on what kind of drug you're testing for. I agree with kenzie that she probably didn't know any of this, but unless she used drugs really recently, she probably didn't have any other hair that was long enough to get conclusive evidence of drug use.

sad, but very true

my hair guy has the theory that she had extensions put in that were too tight and were driving her crazy. not as much fun as the other theorys, but it kinda makes sense.
(to prove his theory, he demonstrated on my head how extensions are put in and how it feels if they are too tight -- it was totally uncomfortable. don't know if i would EVER shave my head over it, but brit doesn't seem to have the best judgement...)
