Chie Mihara Weaved Red Shoe Review, plus other musings
Permalink Closed

I didn't give up on Chie Mihara after the catastrophe with the wedges.  I bought these lovelies on sale (and they're even cheaper now then when I bought them on sale).

This is the Chie Mihara I am familiar with.  The shoes are slightly higher than most of my CMs, but the comfort is still there.  They run TTS (38 = 8 for me w/CM shoes).  I have worn them several times, stood in them, sat, whatever, they feel great.  I haven't even bothered to put in a gel insert, because I just don't need one.  And, they go with a lot of my clothes so with the sale price, $257 including shipping, I think they are a great buy (Anthro listed them on their website recently and they are still full price).  I got them at Footlux.com, and it was my first time shopping with the site; they came quickly, sent email confirmations, very smooth transaction.  I would do it again.

Funny thing though, I lost the bottom plastic  thing on one shoe.  CM does provide a pair of extras in the box, so I guess she knows they aren't fixed to the shoe that well.  Seems to me that it would be easier to just make the shoes better, rather than provide parts... It happened late in the day so it wasn't too big of a deal, but if I had been out and about and unable to not walk, or change shoes, I would have beeen really upset because they might end up ruined after walking on the heel without that plastic thing.

Most of my CM shoes have required repair, although cheap repairs, like fixing the heel, or getting the stretchy part of the strap replaced on my sling backs.  It is annoying, but because the shoes are so damn comfortable and cute, I guess I don't mind paying for repairs, it's just funny to me, because I haven't had this problem with any other brand (ok, I once had to have the plastic thing on the heels replaced on a pair of Moschino Cheap & Chic shoes, and ruined my Steve Madden Marc Jacob knock-off shoes that were my favorites due to losing that plastic thing).

I am still Chie Mihara obsessed, so I already have a couple more pairs of shoes lined up for my next splurge.  That's it on my Chie Mihara musings, hope ya'll enjoyed it.

I luuuuuuurrrrrrve those shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have issues with the plastic thing on shoes constantly because I'm so hard on my shoes. I've ruined countless pair because the stupid thing has fallen off mid-day and I've walked around on them all day without realizing it. Grrrrrr.
