Sling across the body bag?
Permalink Closed

Hmm not sure of the proper term but I'm looking for a purse/bag for daytime that's casual/neutral. Want one that slings across the body in some way for when we go to street fairs or walking alot and I hate having one on my shoulder. Not looking for a messengar bag, that's too big. I've been eyeing the Gucci fanny pack ( I know I know fanny pack) and hte Gucci sling across but I think I'd like to know what else is out there so what else have you seen?

Most want/need in the bag
Slings across body
Preferably a lighter color that can go with most anything
Material not leather siince it's tends to rain in Chicago alot in the summer

TIA!

I really love my Prada one. It is perfect for our weather here and has become my go to bag for bumming around and baseball games. I also love that it is really easy to clean. I keep getting an error when I try to advance post so here are some links. Mine is black, but the site has a ton of colors. HTH!!

This one is also adorable for summer

Hey Collette! Gucci makes a smaller sling across the body bag I bought in Rome a couple of years ago. It's perfect because it's smaller and the neutral fabric hides wear really well. It's perfect for the same reasons you listed. It's seen many festivals, outings, etc and still looks good as new.  I like that I can wear it year-round as well.
It kind of looks like this, but the shoulder strap is wide and made of the red/green twill, and it has an outer pocket with brown leather trim (much nicer than this one):

HTH!

they're referred to as "cross body" or "messenger" bags. the small ones tend to be called cross body, and the larger are messenger.

I have a Fendi cross-body bag that looks really similar to the Gucci one Vanessa posted (except that it's black logo F's! haha). It's great to use -- especially when traveling -- and easy to keep clean.

I have a red prada bag like Farrah posted, and I second that rec - it's the perfect size and has held up really well (I got mine about 5 years ago and it still looks great!)

Mine is definitely not as nice as all of yours...it's just a brown leather messenger bag from Banana...but I swear I don't think I can ever go back to carrying shoulder bags again.  I love having my hands free!
