I know Timex makes a couple different models, and I know at least one or two are under $100.  You can go on their website to look at what they have.  They're just super basic, and don't have all that fancy GPS tracking that the Garmins have.

I would recommend getting a Polar one. Most of them can connect to the treadmills at gyms, that way you don't have to a) wear your watch receiver indoors or b) put your hands on the metal sensors.

agreed. polar is definitely the best.  Theirs are "coded" so they wont pick up on anyone else's signal and give you afalse reading.  It's a very worthwhile investment IF you will use it and you know your zones, etc. What gym do you go to?\
ETA: here's the one i have. It's the cheapest one (F6 model) but it does everything I need it too. I've been very happy with it. It's $115.

Thanks, girls.  I think I am going to get a Polar.  The RS200 model, which I think is pretty middle of the road.  I can get it for $130ish at my gym (Lifetime Fitness).  They have a contract with Polar, so if I have a problem with it, the gym will replace the unit.

I go to Lifetime too, I would recomend going to the heart rate training seminar, unless you already know everything about HR training. They usually have them on saturdays.
