Happy Fourth of July everyone!  It's been pretty rainy in the Detroit area today, but I optimistically have potato salad and burgers for grilling later smile


Does anyone have any big plans for Independence Day?

Happy Fourth!  We're laying low today.  Since it's just the girls and I, we'll just run errands and go to the gym in the morning.  After their naps, I'm going to BBQ some kebabs and take them to a local park around dusk.  The park has a great view of the Air Force base fireworks and they can play before the show starts!  I also promised them watermelon and Cherry 7-up.  Crazy, I know!  The high here in Phoenix is forecasted at 117 degrees, so we won't be doing too much.

Rainy here in Chicago, really hoping it clears up because I want to see the fireworks later.
We're playing tennis this afternoon and them friends from LA will be landing around 520 and we'll be BBQ ing and going to Navy Pier and see the fireworks!

Happy Fourth!

Sadly, I'll be working and working on my final English paper most of the day. Hopefully I can stop this one-woman party long enough to see the fireworks down at the riverfront or stop by a friend's bbq

We hung out at our friend's pool and now we're getting ready to have people over for a BBQ. DH is smoking some ribs and we have all sorts of other goodies to eat and drink. And my BIL made a cheesecake (yum!)

We took my nephew (age 4) and my MIL to see Ratatouille (so cute). We were supposed to go to a barbecue, but it was so ridiculously hot here (116) we both stayed home, slept, and hung out at the pool.

DH and i got up early and did a monster load of laundry.  we also went rollerblading along the river, then grilled on our balcony.  we had the best view from our apt. to view the fireworks.  very mellow, but not bad for our first 4th in Minneapolis. smile
