I agree on waiting till the second generation.  My Project manager got one so I was playing with his all week.  Really cool interface and smooth looking.  I'd probably scratch it all up if I had one though.

I got one and I absolutely love it! It's the best phone/ipod/internet device I've ever owned. I'm a telecommunications engineer though (and gadget geek), so I am into this stuff - but I really do not regret buying it, despite the $$.
It didn't help that my current phone was acting screwy and two of the top people I know both got one and kept showing it off!
If anyone has any questions about it, feel free to ask. I am obsessed with it. Have been watching live earth concerts on you tube while getting ready this morning. Hooked up to my wifi it's super fast!
