Plane Ticket Question
Permalink Closed

I have a free flight on Southwest that my dumbass never used.  It expires July 25th and I won't be able to travel by then (will be out of town a lot in July for a vacation and work).  Should I sell it on ebay or is that a bad idea?  I would have to book the flight for them and then I just give them the confimation number and they are able to fly.  I don't want this ticket to go to waste, but I'm not sure what to do with it.  Thoughts?

Can you call them and see if they're willing to extend the date?

I was going to do that, but I don't see it happening.  SW has really great in person customer service, but if I call them- they are terrible!

If it is a Rapid Rewards Award ticket you can send them $50 and they'll extend it for another year.

Yeah, txgal is right.  My mom gets a lot of them and does that all the time--$50 is a good deal if you can use it for another year to go somewhere you want.
