House plants

I want to get some more house plants my only issue is one of my cat will eat any and all plants.  Right now I just have spider plants.  I'd really like a larger plant that would be in a pot on the ground.  Any suggestions?  Not really sure what I'm looking for.  If you know of plants that are non-toxic to cats those suggestions would be appreciated too.

What about a floor plant that is a tree? That way the leaves aren't 8 inches off the ground and begging to be made into a snack.

I know pointsettias and easter lillies are poisenous to cats, but other than that, I don't know what is safe. I'm sure your vet could provide a list of off-limit plants.

My cats dig in my pots, but don't eat the leaves. For diggers, just put aquarium rocks/gravel on top of the dirt.

A ficus tree is nice, but they are very particular about where they like to grow and where they will decide to call it quits and drop all their leaves.

What about a palm like this one? It's high off the ground, and sturdy. Please don't pot it in a gold pot though! Lowes and Home Depot sell this variety for fairly cheap.

Thanks GD.  I do like the idea of a tree.  I've thought about a ficus in the past but have heard they tend to be messy by dropping leaves.  Since I'm not familiar with different types, I appreciate the suggestion.  And I promise, no gold pot wink
