Getting Nail Oil Out...
Permalink Closed

Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this question, but I need help!  I dropped nail oil/cuticle oil on my favorite top and it didn't come out in the wash.  Is there any hope for it to be removed or am I sunk?

If you are not using a high efficiency washer, you should be able to do the following.  Wet the area that is stained and spot-treat with Dawn Dishwashing Liquid before throwing in the washer.  If the fabric is too delicate, you might not be able to do this.

I would try Pollyjean's suggestion too, but I don't think it would be a big deal to do it with a high-efficiency washer.  I'm assuming the spot is small and that you wouldn't use more than a drop of dishwashing liquid though!

Supposedly blue Dawn works the best for stain removal.  Not sure if that's true or not, though ...

This works everytime. I keep a bottle in my laundry. I've even used it carefully when I got oil on suede and silk - it came out perfectly. Just dab it on the spot carefully, then rinse it out.
