I know how stuff like this can be scary, but freaking out is a waste of energy. It's best to be calm, step up to the plate and sincerely offer any help you can whether that's running some errands or whatever to help ease the burden of her everyday life.  A positive attitude and outlook goes a long way.

I agree with D. I can relate to wanting to ask all sorts of questions to know whats going on...my BF hates it, only because if he knew, he would tell me. Freaking out (especially to your BF) is just going to make things worse. I'm sure he's already scared as it is. He needs you to be calm, and help him get through this. Let him know that you'll be there for him whenever he needs you. Maybe for now you guys can try to go out, or do something that will take his mind off of it (since the test results wont be ready until next week).

I'm sorry this is happening. Hopefully they caught it early enough, and it will be ok.

You sound like you're doing much better, but I second D's advice -- offers to help take care of chores, running errands, bringing over food, and just being there for your boyfriend like you already are -- those are the best things you can do.  Hang in there!
