justice is served! does this mean her time in jail increased from 21 days to 45?

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted out of a courtroom and back to jail Friday after a judge ruled that she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.

"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton, who violated her parole in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.

Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, sans makeup, wearing a gray fuzzy sweatshirt over slacks.

She cried throughout the hearing, her body shook constantly and she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you."

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the morning's developments. He said he had left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing.

When he got in his car early Friday, he said, he heard a radio report that he had approved Hilton's participation in the hearing by telephone, but he had not.

"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days.

"At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road," Sauer said.

Hah! It's so obvious now that she thinks she is above the law. I hope she does the full 45 days.

Good! In all honesty, I think 45 days is a bit harsh, because I don't think that's what most people get after parole violations (but I don't know that for sure). I know it's not fair to her to make an example out of her, but on the other hand, someone needs to put a foot down with this celebrity nonsense and it's about time.

Yay - the spoiled brat deserves everything she gets.  This only makes me dislike her more - the way she carried on like such a baby.  Maybe this will put her in her place.

I really like the judge :) She shouldn't get any special consideration because she's famous. For some twisted reason people actually look up tp her so it'n necessary that she punished when she does something to endanger herself and other people.

But I do kinda wonder what this "medical condition" is . . . They're trying so hard to keep it quiet. hmmmm . . .

I wonder if Paris' family bought her way out of jail with a "medical problem" but it didn't work out.  Looks like if she just kept put in jail she would only have stayed the 20ish days.

Plus I heard on tv that the short time she was under house arrest she had things like gormet cupcakes sent to her house.

I'm glad this happened because anybody who would get arrested for probation violations would use Paris' case as to what's fair for them!

Yeah, I saw that on E!  Between gourmet cupcake delivery and planning a big party at her house, she was kind of flaunting her reduced sentence, IMO.  She should have known better, but of course she didn't.

I am seriously skeptical about whether or not she'll learn anything from this whole ordeal.

Oh I forgot to mention that I had respected her for owning up for what she did and doing her time.  Giving her the benefit of the doubt that tv makes her out to be.  But after her crying fits, WAY early release, cupcake delivery, party planning, she is nothing but a spoiled brat who thinks she is above the law.

I'm glad the judge is putting his foot down.  She needs to understand that there are consequences for her actions and that she is not above the law just because she's a celebrity.

The most she'll be there is 23 days. 2 for 1 (for good behavior) won't change, regardless of what the judge said.

I don't feel sorry for her at all. I think she's ridiculous. She's lucky she only got 45 days, imo, for probation violations on a DUI (there were several). The correct response to getting a DUI would be adhering to all the rules set out for you and feeling damn lucky nothing worse happened (jail, accident, hurting someone else, etc.). She didn't attend the required alcohol classes as set out by her probation, and she drove without a license twice, not just once. I have no sympathy for her. If she really took her situation seriously and didn't want to go to jail, she would have, at the very least, attended the alcohol education classes.

What it comes down to is that she made her own bed and now she has to lie in it. If she doesn't want to be punished for being a "celebrity," then she shouldn't think her "celebrity" is going to get her out of obeying the law - pure and simple.

And almost having a nervous breakdown for being in jail? Yeah, I think so. It's not a vacation. Get over it. None of the people in there (or in any jail) are happy about it. It's hard on everyone. That's why it's a punishment. Welcome to the seriously real world.

--- end rant (sorry!)

P.S. I'm thinking about changing my tag line to "I'm one probation violation away from my goal weight." I'll call it the Paris diet, eh?
