So I am trying to eat more healthy (especially at lunch) and eating a lot more raw veggies (salads). But ummm... it seems to give me a lot of gas (the really bad kind ). Is it just certain veggies that do this (in know broccoli does this so I avoid it)? Does your body adjust after a while? I've mostly always been a meat girl. TIA!
Some veggies are worse than others (like broc). When I started adding more veggies, I would do some steamed and some raw as I got used to it. Some people who have digestive troubles, such as IBS, never completely acclimate to raw veggies.
When I started eating vegetables hardcore with a sudden interest in health, I had bad gas for probably a week or two. I would even devise ways to pass gassecretly, like going into another room for a pretend phone call, or do anything at work that could involve me walking outside or into a vacant room. It was slightly ridiculous and I almost gave up, but I'm so happy I didn't because now I eat veggies all day long and I'm healthier for it. It's also a good motivator not to fall back into my unhealthy eating habits, because I don't want to have to "acclimate" ever again!

Thanks for the comments. Maybe I will get used to it like ttara did after a week or two. Or maybe as pollyjean said - I may not get used to it if I have digestive troubles. I DO have alot of stomach issues (ulcers and gastrointestinal pains). Steamed veggies are no problem though. I wil lkeep trying and see how it goes. Thanks!
I eat alot of raw veggies adn it gives me gas...your body should eventually get adjusted...when I was preggo I could not eat veggies because they bloated me to much!
