I lost my dream job today...

I found out that I lost my job today and I am soooo sad.  I had finally found my "dream job" but now I will need to look for a new one.  Our entire business unit was let go (there were 40 of us).  The good news is that the company gave us an excellent severance package (over 3 months full pay plus bonus) and they are bending over backwards to help us out. 

I had a feeling a few months ago that this was around the corner but I didn't want to believe it.  I started sending resumes out last week and I just today I did pass through a phone interview with a pharmaceutical company for a sales rep positon  and have secured a face to face interview set for a few weeks from now. 

All things considered I'm okay but I wanted to keep everyone posted.  If you have any hot job leads let me know!

Ugh! I'm sorry. Losing a job, especially one you really like, is never easy. Sounds like you already have some prospects, so I'm sure you'll find something in no time at all.

I'm so sorry - as you know, I'm going through the same thing as you right now.  I lost my job a few weeks ago and it's been really tough - but there are also a lot of jobs out there.  Keep your head up and good luck!

I'm really sorry to hear the bad news.  I am happy that they are treating all of their employees with the respect they deserve in this kind of difficult situation.

I often hear of really good stories that come out of situations like this, people ending up in new, great jobs, sometimes with higher pay and greater satisfaction.  I'm sure you will find happiness in a new position in time.  Good luck!

omg, I'm so sorry.
It seems liek a LOT of people are having bad luck with job lately...I know at least 5 people- all in completely different fields and living in different places- that havbe lost their job in the last 2 months or so. SCARY.

I hope you find something just as great soon!!
